I couldn't figure out what direction I wanted to go in, so I figured since I've been on a big kid kick lately, zombie kids it is. Probably should've drawn it on the paper length-wise so the kids would have more breathing room and not be so cramped together. Oh well!

To the kind folks who are still sticking around even after our absence, thanks! Thanks bunches! I dunno about you guys, but 2008 totally kicked mud all over my sneakers, and 2009 has gotten its licks in, too. I hope that we can keep this blog up even when life gets yucky. I've missed it.

Back! After a very long non-posting spree. Welp, I think our new theme for this sketch session was 'girls in cute oufits.' So here they are!








these were quick doodles, and I really want to draw more in really ugly outfits. Or really weird outfits, like Harajuku style. Bring it on Serena!

Fat people! They are fun to draw.

This week I really wanted to play around with shapes and flow and roundness. Looking back, it probably would've been easier to at least start these in Illustrator instead of Photoshop, but Photoshop was already open so, PS won.

I feel like the middle girl should be placed on a holy alter or something...

I had so many more planned but then I got totally side tracked :/ I think doing the painting ruined it for me. Im so out of touch with paint it turned out horrible! Weeeell theres always next week.

Squishy things wearing helmets

This one was a wee bit of a challenge since I rarely ever draw boys, let alone in helmets. Drawing them as squishy toddlers seems to work.

I spent my only free day of the week on these. I would like to post three, but I don't have the time to do another one. OH WELL. It was nice to do what I do for work here at home just for fun.

A joint idea for 'week' number three :D! I know it was animals and they should ALL be jumping rope, but I drew one raccoon and that was it. Oh well. I should probably have gotten reference too :/

Weekly challenge my bulbous puff butt!



Anyway. This 'week' was pirates aarrrr and I was 'busy' so they're only sketches. How quickly we loose intrest.

The inks suck I know but I gotta start somewhere. And after seeing Rebeccas it was like WOAH ok lets...practice. On vellum here, and the brush was so crappy and fluffy I just rushed it because I didnt care anymore. Do I ever?! Usually.

Also, mechanical pencils suck the soul out of you!

These were so fun! I seriously need to practice drawing women folk, though. Next time, I'd like to play more with the proportions and shapes, but for now, some fancy coloring will have to try and cover up their weaknesses.

321 Let's Jam!

All right! My friend Aisleen and I are illustrators trying to wedge our way into the illustration and animation industries. While we're forever practicing and pouring over tons of blogs by illustrators worlds more talented than we, we realize that our skills have a long way to go. So, we've decided to make our own blog to post weekly challenges for ourselves.

Each week one of us chooses a theme and by the end of that week we'll have posted our drawings for said theme. Our posts can range from doodles to finished colored works, whatever we feel like pumping out. The themes will stretch our own stylistic habits and have us draw subject matter that we've likely never explored. Fun times.
